About Lanna-nana, Chiang Mai’s mixed club team:
Chiang Mai Ultimate formed a mixed club team in 2012 to compete at tournaments across the Asia Pacific region. Lanna-nana was formed as a way to continue to grow ultimate in Thailand, and as a way for Chiang Mai ultimate players to gain experience playing at a highly competitive level.
Lanna-nana’s first tournament was the 5th Annual Malaysia Ultimate Open in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. The team was initially seeded at 17, but finished in 7th place at the end of the weekend. In July 2012, we competed in the Mekong Cup, hosted by the Bangkok Soidawgz.
We run skills clinics from time to time. This is a chance for players of all levels to practice throwing, catching, cutting, and defending. All are welcome to join. Please follow our Facebook page for announcements regarding clinics.
Lanna is the ancient kingdom of Northern Thailand, of which Chiang Mai was the capital. The name Lanna-nana represents both our pride to hail from Chiang Mai as well as our team’s fun-loving spirit on and off the field.
